About the Instructor
Amanda Alexander became a Coach after experiencing threat of redundancy when she was 6-months pregnant with her first son Max. At that time, she was an accredited Project Manager within the tech industry, leading systems integration, installation and networking projects.
Amanda's "bad" experience led to a crossroads, as these things often do! She re-trained as a Coach and in 2002, she set up her practice as "Coaching Mums", specialising in supporting working mums to have the fulfilling career they really wanted without sacrificing their soul (i.e balance!). Since then, Amanda's work as a Coach, Facilitator and online course creator has been focused around helping:
- Emerging female leaders (especially those who are juggling demanding careers with family)
- New and up-and-coming Coaches
- Working parents
If you were to ask her what the difference is that she really makes, she would probably reply..
"I help brilliant, talented women to stop holding themselves back, get out of their own way and get on with it."
She's also pretty keen to try to not take herself or life too seriously, and so fun, lightness and humour are woven throughout her practice.
Amanda has won several awards for her professional coaching, including the UK 'Coach/Mentor of the Year' award in 2012. She is much sought after as an expert by the press. She has featured in broadsheets such as The Times, The Sunday Telegraph and The Independent. She has been hailed as one of the UK’s Top Life Coaches by one newspaper, which always sounds good in a profile.
Amanda is a blogger for the Huffington Post, Psychologies Life Labs and the International Coach Federation and she is on the panel of Sage Small Business Experts. She is Regional Director for the North West of Forward Ladies and is an Associate Consultant for Tardis Medical Consultancy and Performance Coaching International (PCI).
Her favourite saying is "Leap and the net will appear"
Her favourite guiding principle as a Coach is "People grow from connection"
Her favourite TV show is "Game of Thrones"
